Magical Elopement in Grand Pré, Nova Scotia
There are some days I know I’ll never forget - this was one of them.
The sun was warm, the breeze soft, and everything about this elopement in Grand Pré felt effortless and true. They didn’t need a big guest list or a packed timeline. It was just the two of them, grounded in what mattered most.
They stood barefoot under a willow tree, its branches hanging low like it had been waiting just for them. Their vows were private, spoken quietly, the kind of words you don’t need to share with anyone else. It was raw, emotional, and one of those moments where time really does feel like it slows down.
Instead of a dance floor, they had soft grass beneath their feet. Instead of a crowd, they had each other. Their first dance was to a song that holds deep meaning in their story nothing staged, nothing for show. Just pure love and presence.
Photographing weddings like this reminds me why I do what I do. The way they laughed through their vows, the look in their eyes during that first dance, the freedom they gave themselves to create a day that was exactly right for them. I cried while editing these photos — because every frame felt like a piece of their story.
Grand Pré is one of those places that just feels like magic for an elopement - willow trees, open fields, and the kind of golden Maritime light that makes everything glow!
I would love to photograph more intimate weddings here. If you’re planning a Nova Scotia elopement and Grand Pré is calling to you, let’s make it happen.
